Bio
Shin-Chan Han received the B.S. degree in earth science from Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea, in 1998, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in geodesy from The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, USA, in 2000 and 2003.
During 2006–2014, he worked at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and has been a Science Team Member for NASA's Gravity Recovery And Climate Experiment (GRACE) and GRACE Follow-On missions. Since 2015, he has been a Professor with The University of Newcastle, Callaghan NSW, Australia. He started out using GPS and other satellite ranging measurements to analyze spacecraft orbits as well as surface deformation and gravity fields of the Earth and those of the Moon and Mars. His research interests are analysis of space geodetic measurements and theoretical modeling of geophysical processes related to mass redistribution within the Earth system.
