Her research focuses on improving the medical care and quality of life of children, adolescents and young people with severe chronic diseases (cancer, HIV, stage 3-5 nephropathy) and their family members (parents, siblings). Her research interests include disease uncertainty, medical trauma stress and post-traumatic growth, psychoneuroimmune (PNI) symptom groups, cancer survival rate and cardiovascular outcomes of cancer experience. Her methodological interests include designing and implementing intervention research, intervention fidelity, biological behavior methods and mixed methods. Her clinical background is pediatric hematology oncology (acute; Long-term follow-up/late effects) and pediatric HIV/AIDS care.
