Bio
Professor Shahrokh Shahpar is internationally renowned in the field of aerospace gas turbine design. He has demonstrated outstanding and sustained technical contributions in turbomachinery multidisciplinary optimisation, and exemplary research and advocacy of the science of aeronautics. His distinguished career with Rolls-Royce has involved making significant contributions to the modelling, simulation and meshing of turbomachinery components, leading to automatic design optimisation of jet engine modules and systems. He has written and pioneered several successful aerothermal design systems currently used by Rolls-Royce, most-notably FAITH and SOPHY (SOFT-PADRAM-HYDRA), which provide systematic design-optimisation tools that focus on high-fidelity aerodynamic, thermodynamic and acoustic analyses.
