My research interests are in mental health systems and policy. My PhD focused on accountability for mental health, asking the question "Is Anybody Getting Better?".

I am particularly interested in exploring the skills and tools decision-makers need to better understand and respond to the mental health needs of communities. This involves the investigation of economic, financial and service models, as well as models of community engagement.

A critical element of this work is to develop the evaluation approaches required to determine the impact of the care provided.
