I'm an Associate Professor at Maastricht University where I co-lead the research line Neuroepidemiology at the School for Mental Health and Neuroscience and the Alzheimer Center Limburg at Maastricht University Medical Center. Our group conducts population-based and clinical research into the aetiology and course of psychiatric and neurological disorders. Most studies focus on dementia, stroke and depression. Our aim is to understand heterogeneity among individuals and population mixtures in order to develop new (primary, secondary, tertiary) prevention strategies.
