I am a Certified Wildlife Biologist and a research scientist looking at the interconnection of forest and public health. Overabundant deer and invasive plants can drastically alter native ecosystems creating habitats that are favorable for ticks. My next research endeavor is habitat and host quantification in order to better predict where ticks and associated pathogens could become a problem. Basically, a healthy forested ecosystem benefits its inhabitants, whether they are human or native wildlife and plant species. I'm striving to produce the science landowners can use to justify managing land to benefit us all.
