个人简介
Dr. Satyanarayan Shashtri has about 20 years of experience in the field of Environmental Science and management. He is an Environmental Specialist in teaching, researching, enforcing, and implementing sustainable techniques for natural resource management. He has an extensive knowledge of site assessments, permitting actions, developing compliance reports, and developing operational plans to comply with existing Laws for Environmental Conservation. An expert in Geospatial techniques, hydrology, geochemical processes, earth processes, atmospheric science, and global climate change.
Dr. Shashtri is currently an Associate Professor in School of Ecology and Environment , Nalanda University, Nalanda, Bihar, India. He was involved in the leadership of the department for more than 7 consecutive years, developing and designing undergraduate, postgraduate and master’s programs, examination and mentoring, thesis supervision and leadership, program counselling, coordinating projects, local and international collaboration and many more related to the growth of department. He also taught locals and international students from United States of America, Canada and Mexico that came to Fiji. He is dedicated to environmental conservation in compliance with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with a love for handling and managing environmental compliance projects.
Prior to that, he worked in various prestigious institutions in science departments in India. He worked at Gautam Buddha University (GBU), as a Visiting Assistant Professor, in 2012 he worked at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi-110067, India, as a Research Associate, teaching undergraduate students in Applied Environmental Science, a Post- Doctorate Research Associate on “Geomorphology and Lineament Mapping of Assam, India” sponsored by Department of Space, Indian Space Research Organization, Government of India, in Remote Sensing Lab, School of Environmental Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He worked as a Satellite Data Interpreter and a Scientist for the National Informatic Centre India for four years.
He has published more than twenty-five research papers in peer-reviewed international journals. His key areas of teaching and research includes, Remote Sensing and GIS, Land use and Landcover

He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in 1996 at Banaras Hindu University in India, Master of Science degree in 1998 and master’s in philosophy in 2004. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy
