Sangeeta Murugkar (sangeetamurugkar@cunet.carleton.ca) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at Carleton University in Ottawa, ON, Canada, where she has led the Laboratory for Laser-Assisted Medical Physics and Engineering since 2013. She has over 20 years of experience in photonics-based industry and academic research. She is a member of the Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Biomedical Engineering and the Ottawa Medical Physics Institute. Her main interests include the development of optical instrumentation and analysis techniques based on vibrational spectroscopic imaging, and system miniaturization for future clinical translation.
