Samuel R. Nason received the B.S. degree (summa cum laude) in electrical engineering from the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, USA, in 2016, and the M.S. degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, in 2018, where he is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Dr. Cindy Chestek. His dissertation focuses on low-power brain–machine interface technologies for restoring function to paralyzed fingers using functional electrical stimulation. Mr. Nason was awarded an F31 predoctoral fellowship from the National Institutes of Health and received the 2021 Towner Prize for Outstanding Ph.D. Research at the College of Engineering, University of Michigan, for his dissertation work.
