Satyavir Singh received the Ph.D. degree in theoretical plasma physics from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, New Delhi, India, in 1995. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the University of Durban–Westville, Durban, South Africa (1995–1996). He has been a Visiting Scientist at the University of Durban–Westville; M. L. Sultan Technikon, Durban; the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa; and the University of the Western Cape, Bellville, South Africa. He is currently with the Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, Navi Mumbai, India. He was Co-Principal Investigator of the Indo-Bulgarian collaborating project on ULF-VLF waves. He has published more than 50 papers in international journals in the field of ionospheric, dusty, and magnetospheric plasmas. His main area of research is the study of linear and nonlinear structures in the Earth's magnetosphere and dusty plasmas. Dr. Singh was awarded a JSPS Invitational fellowship for nine months (2003–2004) at Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan.
