The primary focus of my current research is to investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying rare neurogenetic disorders and diabetic retinopathy using the combinatorial 'Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) " approach. Our lab is integrating novel tools of DNA & RNA sequencing with cell biology to address the barriers in mechanistic understanding of human diseases using the mouse, zebrafish, and human iPSCs-derived models. Through this approach, we seek to identify new pathogenic pathways and provide novel therapeutic targets.
