个人简介
Basic and mechanistic studies of his group include the molecular characterization of cross-reactive allergens as explanation for allergic cross-reactivity, the demonstration of IgE autoreactivity as possible pathomechanism in severe allergy, and studies regarding the role of T cells and T cell-mediated pathology in allergy. In more recent work Rudolf Valenta has characterized rhinovirus coat proteins for serological diagnosis and for vaccination of rhinovirus infections which are major risk factors for severe asthma attacks.
