Bio
His research programme focuses on how seeds develop, and how assimilates are imported and transformed into the major storage products via central metabolic pathways. The primary plant models used are oilseeds (Brassica napus), cereal grains (barley, wheat and maize) and legumes. The ultimate aim of the projects is the better understanding of the relationships between seed architecture, assimilate supply, and metabolism, thereby uncovering mechanisms for improved traits in our major crops.
