Bio
After graduating in Electronical Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano in April 1996, in January 2000 I became Ph.D. in Control and Computer Science, with a specialization in Operations Research, at the Politecnico di Milano. I worked for some time at the Poliedra consortium of the Politecnico di Milano, taking care of the LAMSIT (Laboratorio per l'Analisi della Mobilità e dei Sistemi Innovativi di Trasporto), a laboratory for the analysis of mobility and new transport systems, in Como. Then, I joined a project on fiberoptic network design between Alcatel Italy and the Department of Electronics and Computer Science (Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione, DEI) of the Politecnico di Milano. From December 2002 to January 2010, I have been assistant professor in Computer Science at the Dipartimento di Tecnologie dell'Informazione (DTI) of the Università degli Studi di Milano (site of Crema). Since January 2010, I am assistant professor in Computer Science at the Dipartimento di Scienze dell'Informazione (DSI) of the Università degli Studi di Milano. From 2003 to 2005, I have been president of Crema Ricerche Optisoft, a small cooperative company providing optimization software and consulting services. My scientific interests consequently point towards several different fields, from control theory and system dynamics to Combinatorial Optimization and Environmental Impact Assessment, from computational complexity to algorithm design and analysis.
