Robert Zachariae

Robert Zachariae, MSc., Dr.Med.Sci., is professor at the Departments of Clinical Medicine and Psychology and Behavioural Sciences, Aarhus University, director of the Unit for Psychooncology and Health Psychology (EPoS), Department of Oncology, Aarhus University Hospital, Aarhus, Denmark, and National Scientific Coordinator of a recently established Danish Breast Cancer Group Center and Clinic for Late Effects. He has previously been a research fellow at Beth Israel Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, USA, and visiting professor at the Centre for Medical Psychology and Evidence-based Decision-making (CeMPED), University of Sydney, Australia. Current research includes a number of ongoing projects evaluating the efficacy of both face-to-face and digitally-delivered interventions, including expressive writing intervention, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, cognitive training, and light therapy for treating cancer-related distress, fear of cancer recurrence, persistent pain, cognitive complaints, insomnia, and fatigue among cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers. He is currently (August 2023) author or co-author of 359 books, book chapters, and scientific papers in medical and psychology journals, which have been cited > 16,500 times and correspond to an h-index of 73.
