Besides primary immunodeficiencies (PID), Dr Bredius’ research focusses on immune reconstitution following transplantation, serotherapy, conditioning regimens, infectious complications and gene therapy for PID. He is currently involved in the introduction of neonatal screening for SCID in the Netherlands.
He is an active member of the Dutch Workgroup Immunodeficiency (WID), the Working Party Inborn Errors of the European Blood and Marrow Transplantation Group (WPIE, EBMT), and the European Society of Immunodeficiency (ESID). Furthermore, he is actively involved in the Leiden University Medical School, and coordinator of the graduate student Minors Clinical Immunology & Infection in Health and Disease.
Dr Bredius has delivered industry symposia presentations funded by GSK.
