个人简介
Richard D. Hornung Center for Applied Scientific Computing, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Livermore, CA 94550 USA (hornung1@llnl.gov). Dr. Hornung is a Computational Scientist with the Center for Applied Scientific Computing (CASC) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). He received a Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics from Duke University in 1994. He joined CASC in 1996 after a NSF postdoctoral fellowship appointment at Duke University. Currently, he leads multiple projects, including RAJA, a C++ performance portability abstraction layer for advanced architectures, and Axom, a library of shared software components that provide various services for multi-physics simulation codes. These efforts are used heavily in production applications in the Weapons Simulation and Computing program at LLNL. He also co-leads a software technology project in the DoE Exascale Computing Project, of which Umpire is part. During his career at LLNL, he has led other production software projects including the SAMRAI structured adaptive mesh refinement library. His research interests include parallel algorithms, performance portability, adaptive mesh refinement, and large-scale application development.
