Ricardo P. Aguilera (Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Universidad de Antofagasta, Antofagasta, Chile, in 2003, the M.Sc. degree in electronics engineering from the Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria, Valparaíso, Chile, in 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from The University of Newcastle (UoN), Newcastle, NSW, Australia, in 2012, respectively. From 2012 to 2013, he was a Research Academic with UoN, where he was part of the Centre for Complex Dynamic Systems and Control. From 2014 to 2016, he was a Senior Research Associate with The University of New South Wales, Sydney, NSW, where he was part of the Australian Energy Research Institute. Since September 2016, he has been with the School of Electrical and Data Engineering, University of Technology Sydney, Ultimo, NSW, where is an Associate Professor. His research interests include theoretical and practical aspects of model predictive control with application to power electronics, renewable energy integration, and microgrids.
