Brazilian ecologist mainly interested in the ecology and conservation of tropical forests, with emphasis on the pattern and processes controlling the structure, diversity and dynamics of tree communities. Previously working as a post-doc fellow at the Theoretical Ecology Lab, Universidade de Sao Paulo (USP, Brazil) and currently Marie-Curie fellow at the Naturalis Biodiversity Center (The Netherlands).
