个人简介
Rebecca Bromley graduated in psychology from the University of Liverpool, where she later completed her PhD on the impact of medications on children's neurodevelopment. Having moved to Manchester to complete her doctoral training in Clinical Psychology Rebecca then formally joined the University of Manchester in 2013 on a NIHR Post-Doctoral Fellowship.
Starting with her PhD, her research investigates disruption of typical brain development when the fetus is exposed in the womb to certain prescribed medications. With her collaborators and mentors she has established a number of large observational cohorts to investigate the impact of antiepileptic drugs on fetal development. One of these drugs - sodium valproate, was found to be associated with a substantially increased risk of poorer postnatal cognitive and social development.
Working with collaborators from around the world Rebecca and her colleagues are involved in the promotion and development of longer term outcome research in medication exposed pregnancies.
She also works as a Clinical Psychologist at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
