Professor Ravinesh Deo leads UniSQ's Advanced Data Analytics Research Lab at University of Southern Queensland Australia. He is a 2021 Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher (1 in 2,828 researchers for cross-field performance) with publications ranked in top 1% by citation for field and publication year in the Web of Science citation index and is among scientists and social scientists who have demonstrated significant broad influence, reflected in publication of multiple papers frequently cited by their peers produced each year by the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI)™ at Clarivate. Prof Deo is a leading artificial intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) researcher with cross-disciplinary expertise in Knowledge & Data Engineering, Deep Learning, AI & ML theoretical developments and applications. With a PhD in Turbulence, Energy and Combustion area (Signal Processing), BSc in Physics & Mathematics awarded with a Gold Medal, Prof Deo’s research in explainable and interpretable AI has a focus on power systems, renewable energy, radio communications research, environment, and engineering domains. He received an Excellence in Research, Ronel Erwee Memorial Award for Excellence in Postgraduate Supervision, Faculty Research Excellence, University & School Publication Awards, HES Faculty Teaching Excellence Commendation and Elsevier’s Highly Cited Paper Awards Prof Deo was educated in Fiji (at Labasa College one of the highest achieving schools in Fiji) graduating as Senior Secondary School National Dux.
