Rashid A. Waraich was born in Sargodha, Pakistan. He studied computer science at ETH Zurich with exchange year at KTH Stockholm and his final masters semester at UC Berkeley, where he wrote his master's thesis in the area of distributed systems and information security. He received his MSc degree in computer science from ETH Zurich in 2007. In 2008 he joined the Institute for Transport Planning and Systems at ETH Zurich, where he is working towards a PhD. His research interests include large-scale parallel micro-simulation, simulation of plugin hybrid electric vehicles and parking search behavior.
