Bio
I'm an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and (by courtesy) the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I work mostly on problems in human-computer interaction, with a focus on bringing data mining and machine learning to bear on problems in design.
I received my PhD from the Department of Computer Science at Stanford University, where I worked with Scott Klemmer. I was formerly the Chief Scientist at Apropose, Inc., a data-driven design company I co-founded, which was backed by Andreessen Horowitz and New Enterprise Associates.
