The main goal of his current research is to advance the fundamental understanding and state of the art of provisioning and delivery of application services (web, big data analytics, content delivery networks, and scientific workflows) in large, heterogeneous, uncertain, and emerging distributed systems.
Prof. Ranjan is ranked by Microsoft Academic as one of the Top Authors in Cloud Computing, Big Data, Quality of Service, Resource Management, and Services Computing. According to recent (2020) bibliometric study by the Stanford University (https://bit.ly/3ndOXlN), he is one of the highly cited authors in distributed computing field. He has secured more than $24 Million AUD (£12 Million GBP, with collaborators) in the form of competitive research grants from both public and private agencies.
