He invented spatial modulation technique during his PhD, and he is the inventor of quadrature spatial modulation and trellis coded spatial modulation. He published more than 200 journal and conference papers with an overall citation of more than 10000.

Massive MIMO communications, Beam-forming, Visible light communications (VLC), millimeter waves, femtocells, Hardware implementation, Cooperative diversity techniques, Diversity techniques and coding for fading channels, Channel estimation and equalization, OFDM and multi-carrier communication, Performance analysis over generalized fading channels, Terrestrial free-space optical (FSO) communication systems, Vehicular communications, and channel modeling.
