Ronan Xavier Correa

Currently, I investigate the interaction between Theobroma cacao and Phytophthora spp, aiming at selecting resistant local varieties and understanding the molecular mechanisms involved in this pathosystem. Additionally, I collaborate in other scientific research initiatives on cocoa, melon and passion fruit. I use molecular markers, as well as proteomics and genomics as the main study tools. My focus is to train new researchers in the context of genetics, plant breeding and conservation.
