Bio
Rob's scientific focus is on the synthesis and in situ investigation of the electronic structure of quantum thin films and heterostructures. It is the electronic structure of materials that generates the exotic quantum physical and chemical properties that can transform future technologies and he focuses on connecting concepts as correlated electron physics and topology across material interfaces for a deeper understanding of emergent phenomena. Through a multi-modal approach combining Molecular Beam Epitaxy with Photoemission and Scanning Probe techniques his aim is to discover new ways to harness the quantum world.
