Prof. Ruggiero Francavilla is in charge of the Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Pediatric Nutrition outpatient clinic and performs on average 2000 outpatient services in the cases of gastroenterology and hepatology.
The activity of Prof. Francavilla is summarised as follows:
1. Pediatric Digestive Endoscopy Service with an average of 250 exams per year; the Giovanni XXIII Pediatric Endoscopy Service is the only one in the Puglia Region (together with the San Giovanni Rotondo IRCCS) to guarantee a stable service with two weekly sessions dedicated to pediatric endoscopy. Prof. Ruggiero Francavilla has specific skills for the digestive endcoscopy of both the upper and lower digestive tract.
2. Responsible fo the inpatient service of patients admitted by the Emergency Department with Gastroenterological and Hepatological of considerable complexity.
3. Physiopathology service for pHmetry and pH-impedance analysis with about 250 tests per year and recent acquisition of High Resolution Manometry (only Center below Naples) for the pediatric age;
4. Breath test service for diagnosis of lactose intolerance, accelerated transit, small intestinal bacterial overgtowth and Helicobacter Pylori infection (300 examinations per year)
