R Ralph R. Basilio received Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California, a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the California State Polytechnic University, and an Executive Engineering Management Certificate from the California Institute of Technology. He is the Program Manager for Earth Science Competed Missions and the Orbiting Carbon Observatory-3 (OCO-3) Project Manager at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and has over 30 years of professional experience on robotic and crewed space missions. He has been project manager or deputy project manager on four previous space flight missions, an in-flight science task, and a scientific research & technology development task. He was awarded 3 NASA medals, a NASA Space Act award, and more than 20 NASA group achievement awards. He has authored or co-authored more than 30 publications.
