Bio
I have worked on a broad range of electronic materials and devices for energy storage and conversions. For example, I invented relaxor ferroelectric polymers that generate giant electroactuations under ultralow electric fields. The polymers have been commercialized by Arkema/Piezotech. The materials have been used in solid state actuators and transducers used in micro-fluid systems, haptics in AR and VR, and soft robots. I have also invented ferroelectric polymers possessing giant electrocaloric (EC) effect. The EC polymer cooling devices are environment benign (no greenhouse gas emission), highly scale (for wearable and localized cooling with high efficiency), and compressor free. I have also worked on different sensors (displacement, force, magnetic sensors), transducers (for imaging and for LOGGING-WHILE-DRILLING).
