Pui Yi Lau (Senior Member, IEEE) received the bachelor’s, M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees from the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, in 2005, 2007, and 2010, respectively.
She was a Research Fellow of the State Key Laboratory of Millimeter Waves, City University of Hong Kong, a Scientist of A*STAR, a governmental institute in Singapore, and the Technical Director of Invengo Technology Pte Ltd. She is the CTO of Laxcen Technology Ltd., the CEO of the firm’s subsidiaries in Hong Kong and Singapore, and an expert in radio-frequency identification (RFID) and antenna technology. Laxcen Technology is a leading supplier of the IoT products and solutions to over 1500 customers from over 50 countries. Its applications include NFC and RFID hardware, tags and solutions for libraries, apparel, aviation, retail, logistics, and supply chain. She leads the Research and Development Team of Laxcen to develop the innovative RFID products, such as RFID tags, antennas, reader and RFID robotic for library and retail applications, RFID sensor tags for cold-chain, smart refrigerator, intelligent medicine cabinet, and RFID archives.
Dr. Lau is a Board Member of AIM Global, which is an international industry association with 50 years history that connects, standardizes, and advances automatic identification technologies included RFID, the IoT, blockchain, and data capture. She was a recipient of three Best Paper Awards from international conferences, the coauthor of the RFID Chapter in The Industrial Electronic Handbook (Second Edition), and published 30 papers in the top journals and international conference and 12 international/China patents in the related field. She is the Founder and the Chairperson of AIM Asia covering its chapters in China, Japan, and other Asian regions. She serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Journal of Radio Frequency Identification RFID and the former Chairperson of the IEEE RFID Singapore Chapter.
