I'm a Professor in the Algorithms and Complexity group of the School of Computer Science within the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo. My work includes research (into the design and analysis of algorithms, and computational complexity, particularly parameterized complexity), teaching, and committee service. I exhibit occasional flashes of interest in travel, food, wine, coffee, music, books, film, photography, theatre, art, and architecture, though not for long enough to develop any expertise. Nearly all of my non-work time (and some of my work time as well) is spent with my wife and children.
