Mohammadi, P.

Pouya Mohammadi received his MSc in Mechanical Engineering of Agricultural Machinery from Urmia University in 2012. He is currently a Ph.D. student at the Institue of Tropical Aquaculture and Fisheries (AKUATROP), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). Pouya’s main interests include the design and fabrication of industrial equipment and process engineering and biorefinery, as well as production, improvement, and exergy-based analysis of biofuels and renewable energies. He joined Biofuel Research Team (BRTeam) in 2012 and has collaborated with BRTeam ever since. Working with the industry for 8 years in different capacities, including technical manager and maintenance manager, alongside his continuous engagement with academic research and development, has turned him into an asset for any advanced academic-industrial program. He has managed to publish 24 research papers in journals such as the Journal of Hazardous Materials (Impact Factor: 14.224), Energy Conversion and Management (Impact Factor: 11.533), and Journal of Cleaner Production (Impact Factor: 11.072), etc. (Citations: 877, h-index: 15, Scopus). Pouya has been collaborating to conduct research and industrial projects such as extraction of biochar and bio-oil, as well as chitin and chitosan from shrimp shells, production of solketal and solketalacetin as green fuel additives, and purification of glycerol as biodiesel byproduct in pilot scale.
