For research, he has been working in the area of Operations Management, particularly, optimization and its applications, and has published over 160 SCI journal papers, and is one of the top 2% world scientists recognized by Stanford University in recent years. He has supervised dozens of research students and research assistants. His research students work in different places around the world, including USA, Australia, Hong Kong, United Nations, and mainland China. For teaching, he received high SFQ (Student Feedback Questionnaire) Awards over 10 times.
