His research activity deals with proposing mesoscopic descriptions of phenomena, designing new numerical schemes (mainly in the framework of Lattice Boltzmann Method), developing new numerical codes (including parallel codes on large cluster facilities) and finally applying the previous tools in order to investigate the microscopic fluidics of industrial devices.
Honors and Awards
Winner of the Award for Outstanding Scientific Activity of Young Researchers, promoted by Politecnico di Torino (10th position among all young faculty members), July 2007.
The doctoral dissertation, entitled "Multi Scale Analysis of Heat and Mass Transfer in Mini/Micro Structures" (in English), was awarded by
"XVIII EDITION DEBUT IN RESEARCH AWARD" [PDF] provided by ENI Italgas Prize for Energy and Environment (www.premioitalgas.it), March 2006;
and "UIT Prize 2005-2006 for the Best Doctoral Dissertation in Thermal Fluid Dynamics" provided by the Italian Society for Thermal-Fluid Dynamics (in Italian, "Unione Italiana di Termofluidodinamica - UIT", www.uitonline.it), June 2007.
The Master Thesis, entitled "Thermo-Fluidynamic Analysis of Fission Fragment Direct Heating for Space Propulsion (in English), was awarded by the "UIT Prize 2001 for the Best Master Thesis in Thermal Fluid Dynamics" provided by the Italian Society for Thermal-Fluid Dynamics (in Italian, "Unione Italiana di Termofluidodinamica - UIT", www.uitonline.it), June 2002.
