Pierre Pagé received the M.D. degree from the Department of Surgery, Université de Montréal, Montréal, QC, Canada, in 1975. He was certified in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1981. For two years, he was a Research Fellow at Medical Research Council of Canada, University of Alabama, Birmingham. He is currently a Professor in surgery at the Department of Surgery, Université de Montréal, where he is the Chief at the Division of Cardiac Surgery, Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal, Université de Montréal, and a staff surgeon at the Institut de Cardiologie de Montréal, Montréal, where he is the Director of the Cardiac Arrhythmia Surgery Program, and currently engaged in surgery for atrial fibrillation (AF), ventricular tachycardias, and complex pacemaker lead management problems. His current research interests include experimental cardiac electrophysiology, the role of the autonomic nervous system in arrhythmias, and postoperative AF.
