Echternach, P.M.

Pierre M. Echternach received the Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, in 1990. He was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at USC, where he researched phase-breaking mechanisms of electronic quantum coherence at millikelvin temperatures. He has 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals including five in Physical Review B and one in Physical Review Letters in the area of phase-breaking mechanisms of electronic quantum coherence. He joined the Low Temperature Science and Engineering Group, Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Pasadena, CA, in 1993, and the Superconducting and Magnetic Materials and Devices Group in 1998. He is currently responsible for electron-beam lithography at JPL and is leading the experimental side of JPL's quantum computing effort using superconducting mesoscopic circuits as quantum bits.
