Michele Piana

Michele Piana received the Laurea (cum laude) and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the Universita' di Genova, Genova, Italy, in 1992 in 1996, respectively. From 1997 to 1998, he held a postdoctoral position at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Delaware. From 1999 to 2001, he was Ricercatore at the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica della Materia and from 2001 to 2005, he was Ricercatore of Numerical Analysis at the Dipartimento di Matematica, Universita' di Genova. He is currently Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Dipartimento di Informatica, Universita' di Verona. He is also with CNR-INFM-LAMIA, University of Genova. His research interests include regularization theory for inverse problems, inverse scattering, medical imaging, computational neuroscience and computational astrophysics.
