How does an animal perceive its environment? How is this sensory input integrated and processed to produce the appropriate physiological and behavioural responses? I am interested in the neural and endocrine pathways activated and/or modulated by specific olfactory inputs; reproductive pheromones and changes in environmental cations. My ultimate aim is to trace the pathways – at neural, cellular, organ/tissue and whole organism levels - from cause (sensory) to effect (physiology and behaviour).
