Using the scattering of neutrons and photons, Prof. P. Böni (*1955) investigates the static and dynamic properties of magnetic and superconducting materials on an atomic scale in order to understand their macroscopic behavior und to make them useful for technical applications. Key questions of his research include investigations of the fundamental properties of strongly correlated electron systems near phase transitions and of magnetic heterostructures for data storage and spintronics.
