个人简介
Dr. Pei-Yun Sabrina Hsueh, FAMIA, is a global health informatics leader and currently serving on the Senior Manager of Health Informatics at Viome Inc, leading the effort of decoding individual biology and behaviour for precision medicine. She has recently been elected as the Fellow of American Medical Informatics Association (FAMIA), the Chair of Consumer and Pervasive Health Informatics Work Group (AMIA CPHI-WG) and the incoming Chair of the International Medical Informatics Association Exposome Informatics Work Group (IMIA Exposome Informatics WG). She is also a board member of the ACM Practitioners Board. Prior to joining Viome Inc, she was the IBM Academy of Technology Member and Research Staff Member at the Centre of Computational Health of IBM Research.
Dr. Hsueh is a pioneer in the area of personal health informatics and computational health behaviour and decision science. She leads a health informatics team to develop technologies to detect patient need in context from a wide range of exogenous health data sources, e.g., microbiome tests, nutrition outcome registry, care management records, surveys and self-reported outcomes, ecological momentary assessments, and wearable/IOT sensor data. Her expertise in the emerging area makes her a sought-after speaker and consultant for various science-driven industry solutions, wining a series of IBM Inventor awards, Manager Choice Awards and Eminence Awards.
Dr. Hsueh’s work has recently won her the AMIA 2018 Distinguished Paper Award. Her thought leadership has also led to a series of panels and workshops on precision medicine and patient-generated health data in MEDINFO, MIE, and AMIA since 2013. She authored 20+ patents, 50+ technical papers, 3 book chapters, and is currently editing a new book on Machine Learning for Medicine and Healthcare (Springer Nature). She also serves as an invited guest editor for Sensors Journal (special issue: Data Analytics and Applications of Wearable Sensors in Healthcare) and JAMIA OPEN (special issue: Precision Medicine in the Era of Patient-centered Care).
Prior to joining IBM Research, she was selected as European Google Anita Borg Scholar and has worked for the EU FP Augmented Multiparty Interaction (AMI) and AMI-Distant Access program with 22 partner sites across 7 countries. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from National Taiwan University, Master’s degree from University of California, Berkeley and PhD in Informatics from University of Edinburgh respectively.
IEEE Standard Committee Voting Member
