Bio

Paul Grimes was born in St. Leonard’s-on-Sea, East Sussex, UK, in 1978. He received the M.Sci. degree in Natural Sciences (Experimental and Theoretical Physics) from Cambridge University, UK, in 2001 and the Ph.D. degree in Astrophysics, also from Cambridge University, in 2006. From 2005 to 2011, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Department of Physics, University of Oxford, UK. Since 2011, he has been a physicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, Cambridge, MA. His research interests include millimeter and submillimeter wave astronomical instrumentation, superconducting mixers and detectors for astronomical instrumentation, quasi-optical design of radio and submillimeter telescopes, and millimeter and submillimeter wave components.
