My lab is looking to use Synthetic Biology techniques to develop microbial technologies that can act as a buildings metabolism - processing waste and generating energy and other high value products. We will be looking to develop tool boxes that allow us to take non model bacteria and use them as cell factories. I am also interested in the enzymes we will need to use to break down waste and produce high value products.
