Bio
Paul S. Addison received the Master's degree in engineering in
1989, and the Ph.D. degree in fluid mechanics from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, U.K. in 1993.
He was a Cofounder of start-up company, CardioDigital Ltd., and its U.S. subsidiary, CardioDigital Inc., which
specialized in advanced biosignals analysis techniques for medical monitoring devices. He is currently a Technical
Fellow at the Medtronic R&D Facility, Edinburgh, U.K. He was a Tenured Professor of fluids engineering and has
authored many technical papers and two text books: Fractals and Chaos: An Illustrated Course (London,
U.K.: Inst. of Physics, 1997) and The Illustrated Wavelet Transform Handbook (London, U.K.: Inst. of
Physics, 2002). He is an Inventor of more than 50 U.S. patents and 100 current patent applications in the area of
biosignals analysis algorithms and medical devices. Dr. Addison is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics.
