Bio
In my over 20 years of experience as a Medical Physicist in Human Oncology, I have had the opportunity to grow as a clinical expert, academic, educator, mentor, and leader. I am excited to bring my medical physics knowledge to the Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine through research, education, and clinical support. While the patients are different, my ethos remains the same: to improve the quality of care for cancer patients through the introduction of evidence-based technologies and pragmatic processes in our fast-paced environment.
I have served in a variety of leadership roles, such as Interim Professional Practice Leader in Medical Physics (Victoria, Canada); Associate Director of the BC Cancer Medical Physics Residency Program; lead physicist for major capital procurements such as linear accelerators, CTs, PET-CTs; and Chair of the BC Cancer Varian Management Group, which is responsible for the world's largest RO database, spanning 6 centers, more than 30 linear accelerators and multiple databases. I also serve in a variety of provincial, national, and international professional societies, including Medical Physics for World Benefit and the American Association of Physicists in Medicine. I have a keen interest in cultivating and fostering future leaders into the profession of medical physics, and I am passionate about sharing knowledge of what medical physicists do with the public and in improving global access to cancer care.
