Paulo Fontoura

I joined Roche in 2008 and became Head of Translational Medicine for Neuroscience and Rare Diseases in 2010, responsible for the early development phases of new medicines for neurological and psychiatric diseases, including Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer and Parkinson disease, spinal muscular atrophy, depression, schizophrenia, autism, fragile X and Down syndrome. In 2015 I became Global Head of Neuroscience, Clinical Development, where I lead the therapeutic area and global teams responsible for late stage clinical development and registration of new medicines. Recently, we have successfully filed and launched Ocrevus (ocrelizumab) for Relapsing and Primary Progressive forms of MS, marking the first launch in Neuroscience for Roche in the last 20 years, and a major landmark for patients.
