Boris P. Sorokin was born in 1953. He was graduated from the Physics Faculty, Krasnoyarsk State University (KSU), Krasnoyarsk, Russia, in 1975. He received the Ph.D. and Doctor of Sciences degrees in solid state physics from the L. V. Kirensky Institute of Physics, Russian Academy of Science, Krasnoyarsk, in 1985 and 1996, respectively.
He has worked at KSU as a Senior Engineer, and then from 1986 to 2009, as an Associate Professor and a Full Professor. From 1985 to 1986, he has worked as a Scientific Researcher with the L. V. Kirensky Institute of Physics, USSR Academy of Sciences. In 2002, he has received the title of Professor in Solid State Physics. Since 2010, he has been with the Technological Institute of Superhard and New Carbon Materials (TISNCM), Moscow, Troitsk, Russia, as the Chief Researcher. Since 2017, he has been the Chief of the Laboratory “Physical Acoustics and Acoustoelectronics Devices.” Since 2011, he has been working as a Professor with the Department of Physics and Chemistry of Nanostructures, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Dolgoprudny, Russia. Since 2016, he has been the Chief of laboratory of TISNCM.
His fields of scientific interests are focused on theoretical and experimental studies of the propagation of acoustic waves in crystals and piezoelectric layered structures as well as development of microwave acoustic resonators and sensors. He has more than 80 articles in peer-reviewed journals as well as three monographs and two patents have been published with his participation.
