Professor Oyewale Tomori is one of the leading African virologists with wide-ranging experience in virology, disease prevention and control, national capacity building and development. He has previously served as the WHO’s African Region Laboratory Coordinator and Advisor on Laboratory Development and Virus Control. He also established the Africa Regional Laboratory Network for the diagnosis of polio and other viral diseases while working at the WHO. At the University of Ibadan Tomori's research interest focuses on viral infections including Ebola hemorrhagic fever,[9] yellow fever, Lassa fever.
