He holds a MD (UERJ), MSc and PhD in Dermatology (UFRJ) and Post-PhD fellowship at the University of Texas. He has been a Professor of Dermatology at Uni-Rio, Collaborating Researcher at UERJ, Professor of the Postgraduate Course in Medical Clinic on UFRJ, researcher at the Clinical Immunology Service at HUCFF/UFRJ, and Head of the Dermatology Service of PGRJ. He was President of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology, vice-president CILAD and a member of the Brazilian Academy of Medicine.
