Nikhil V. Navkar

Nikhil V. Navkar received the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Houston. He is a Senior Research Scientist with the Department of Surgery, Hamad Medical Corporation. His work focuses on the research, development, and innovation of medical technologies to solve unmet clinical needs. He has initiated, planned, and executed multi-institutional, multidisciplinary Research and Development projects across engineering and clinical teams. He was formerly a Research Executive of Medical Software Engineering with the Qatar Foundation’s Qatar Robotic Surgery Center, Qatar Science and Technology Park, where he worked on medical robotics projects aligned with the national research and health strategies. His research interests include human-computer-interaction for medical devices, computer simulations for preoperative planning and training, and algorithms for image-guided robotic interventions.
